Having an eight month old baby is definitely one of the most exhausting, yet beautiful adventures I’ve ever had. From the time I found out I was pregnant with my daughter, I felt a peace from God that He was in control of my pregnancy. Because I had lost a baby years ago, I cherished this peace. I knew I was going to get to meet my baby, and I knew that God had a plan for her life.

I listened to worship music all throughout my pregnancy and even went to a Steven Curtis Chapman and Third Day concert. Even before she was born, I felt like she was going to be a worshiping baby. She danced in my belly when I was in church worship services and at that concert.

Naturally, I want my child to know that God perfectly created her and He loves her. Per recommendation from my friend Brooke, I created a playlist of worship music to play during my last few weeks of pregnancy and while I was in labor. I wanted to prepare my heart for motherhood in the weeks leading up to birth. Due to my unforeseen need for a last minute C-section, I didn’t get to use this playlist during labor, but I used it before and still use it to calm my sweet girl now. Some of the songs on it are as follows:

Ever Be by Bethel Music and Kalley Heilingenthal

Good Good Father by Chris Tomlin

Sovereign by Chris Tomlin

Holy Spirit by Francesca Battistelli

Playlist for a Worship Centered Labor

Overwhelmed by Big Daddy Weave

This I Believe by Hillsong Worship

Lord I Need You by Matt Maher

Let it be Jesus by Christy Nockels  (on Passion Album)

My Heart is Yours by Kristian Stanfill  (on Passion Album)

10,000 Reasons by Matt Redman

In Christ Alone by Kristian Stanfill (on Passion Album)

A Mighty Fortress by Christy Nockels
