One unfortunate part of life is that at times we deal with hurt and pain. We all grieve over things that happen, even though we all grieve differently. It is always comforting to me though to remember that God gives us hope through His word. Here a few scriptures you can cling to when you are dealing with grief:

Matthew 5:4

“Blessed are those who mourn. For they shall be comforted.”

Psalm 27:4

“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil;
For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.”

Psalm 147:3

“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”

Isaiah 41:10

“Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’”

Revelation 21:4

“And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”

Matthew 11:28-30

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

Isaiah 40:31

“But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.”

Scriptures about Grief

Of course, there are many other scriptures that bring us hope, but these are a few I personally like. What are some others you can cling to in times of grief? I would love to hear from you.
