DIY Moms, where you at? I’m totally a DIY mom. If I see something that I know I can make instead of buying, you can almost take it to the bank that I will do it to save a penny. Naturally, when Reagan’s paci collection started growing, her paci clip collection didn’t keep up. I decided to DIY my own pacifier clip. If you’re feeling crafty and want a DIY pacifier clip for yourself, I’ve posted my “pattern” below. I call it pattern loosely.

DIY Pacifier Clip

I actually made mine with two different patterns. The pink pattern is as follows:

Materials:

Fabric
Scissors
Elastic
Metal Clips
Iron

1. Cut Fabric strip 4″ x 10″. Iron

2. Fold ends of fabric over about 1/2″ and iron to stay flat.

3. Fold fabric inward on each side so the edges meet in the middle then fold piece in half. Iron fabric so it stays flat. It should be approximately 1″ wide.

4. Cut elastic about 3 1/2″ long. Fold in half and place just inside the fold in one end of fabric. Sew across the end of the fabric, making sure to sew the elastic to the fabric.

5. Run fabric’s other end through the opening in the metal clip. Fold down about half an inch of fabric and sew across the end.

6. Sew side edges of clip making sure to keep the edges straight and together.

Of the two patterns, I like the second better. It takes a little longer to do, but it is twice as thick so it’s more sturdy. Also, having double length fabric eliminates an extra seam across the end that is a little unsightly.

You can get clips and elastic from Amazon. Click here to see clips. . Click here to see elastic.  (Both of these are affiliate links). And my fabric strips were free from my Mamaw’s sewing closet. Altogether, I paid less than $1 per clip. Much cheaper than the $10 I spent on my first clip at a children’s store several months ago.

So what do y’all think? Easy enough?
